Kenyon Brenner

Saxophone, Flute, Drums and Jazz Instructor

Originally from Colorado, Kenyon Brenner is a saxophonist, composer, and dedicated music educator with over 20 years of experience teaching private lessons. He holds both a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies and a Master of Music in Composition from the University of Northern Colorado, where he later returned to teach jazz theory, improvisation, and direct ensembles from 2015 to 2020. In 2009, Kenyon expanded his rhythmic and cultural knowledge by studying African drumming and rhythm in Ghana for six months, an experience that deeply influenced his musical voice. He went on to tour extensively throughout the United States and Canada in 2012 with the World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra, gaining invaluable performance experience on an international stage.

Kenyon has performed with such artists as: Benny Green, Jeff Coffin, Donny McCaslin, Jeff Clayton, Louis Hayes, Terrell Stafford, Jeff Hamilton, Christian McBride, Chris Potter, Deborah Brown, The New York Voices, and Groove for Thought. While Kenyon has primarily specialized in performance on saxophones, clarinet, and flute, he has experience teaching and playing piano, bass guitar, drums, and musicians on all instruments. While he has performed all across the globe, he continues to maintain an active performance schedule today throughout Southern California. Whether on stage or in the classroom, he is passionate about sharing his joy for music. Currently based in Orange County with his wife and dogs, he devotes much of his time to mentoring the next generation of musicians—helping students prepare for professional careers or simply guiding them to discover the richness and fulfillment that playing music can bring into their lives.
