Guitar Teacher

Michael Putman is a musician originally from Los Angeles. At the age of 12 he studied guitar with Steven Shurack, owner of Broadway Music School in Denver, before going on to earn his degree in Music for Film, TV, and Games from Berklee College of Music, where he graduated summa cum laude with guitar as his principle instrument. A multi-instrumentalist, he plays guitar, bass, piano, drums, and also works as a songwriter, producer, and recording artist.

He has worked as Music Director at Calvary Chapel South Bay, a congregation of over 10,000, where he played guitar, bass, drums, piano, sang, and led worship. His work as a composer includes arranging, writing, and orchestrating for full orchestra in live settings, as well as scoring feature-length projects, short films, and online series. As a performer, he has played gigs with artists across genres ranging from rock, pop, funk, and jazz to metal and punk.

Since the age of 14, he has written and recorded original albums spanning multiple genres, while also teaching music for nearly the past decade. Currently, he is active in more than five projects in various roles, continuing to expand his creative work as a performer, songwriter, and composer. He loves to spread the love of music to all!
